Care Bear is a lovely brown tabby cat with enormous green eyes. Her eyes are amazing – it’s like looking into a pond with lily pads and pretty green frogs. There is a world in her eyes.
She is Care Bear the Second because she is the second cat we have had in our program named Care Bear. That was her given name at the animal shelter where she had been long enough that the employees got to know her well. And no matter how much they cared for her, and they did, she was so stressed that she lost much of her hair on the sides of her body. You can see it in one of the photos. Our vet gave her some shots when he spayed her and she is doing much better now. The hair is growing back. Being in a home helps too. And even though some of my foster dogs can be a tad barky, it doesn’t bother her!
Care Bear is a gentle cat, easy to get to know, and one that enjoys being held.
She has done well with Wash and ignored Boots which is good since Boots does have cat-attitude!
She has not mingled with the dogs yet, but they can be a handful being teen agers and all. I think she would do fine with a quiet dog, one dog or older dogs.
She loves people.
Medical: Care Bear is spayed, wormed, and up to date on shots.
She has been tested for Feline Leukemia and has Revolution applied once a month.
We will micro chip cats and kittens adopted from our program who are over five pounds for an additional $10. This fee includes a $20 prepaid registration form so you can register your pet into your name.
PetsConnect has moved to a no-declaw policy. This means adopters will be asked to not declaw any kittens or cats adopted from the PetsConnect program.
Most of our kittens and cats have Soft Claws (nail caps for cats) on their front paws.

Making a Difference
PetsConnect! is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization moving into out Tenth Year!
All the animals are in foster homes and well cared for, we pay our bills, make our thank yous and our volunteers work very hard to run PetsConnect! as a professional, caring, friendly business!
The animals in our program come from local animal shelters and to the employees and volunteers of our local animal shelters we are most grateful and thankful for the hard, emotionally taxing work they engage in daily.
