Meet Elsy, Erica and Eva

Full of energy, playful, bountiful running, agile climbers describe these three girls!  They are busy, busy, busy little bees.  Elsy does enjoy a good cuddle for a fair length of time, Erica and Eva are seconds in a lap before jumping off and on towards play.

These three girls are beagle mixes.  We know for a fact that mom was a beagle mix.  She has been adopted.  We do not have a clue who or what dad was – well, he was a dog.  Of course.
They have that houndish type erica_standing_01_23_2011smhair: short, smooth, velvet to the touch and super easy to wash!  They will be easy to keep clean.  In fact the youth at the prison washed them last week and were surprised at how easy the pups were to clean up.

The pups are participating in our prison program called Daylight.  You can read more about the program by clicking here.  The youth were so surprised at how active the pups were!
There were seven boys the last time and we met in an inside room because it was just too cold and snow was too high to go out in the yard.  The kids laid or sat and the pups enjoyed hopping in and out of laps, jumping over prone bodies, grabbing at pant legs and shirt sleeves and well, just being very active puppies!  At one point two of the pups got into a tiff, one bit the others 01_23_2011Sebrina Tingley1813ear which bled like an ear wound will.  10 – 10 the boys said.  That was quite the excitement.  One of the youth held the bleeding ear with paper towel and within moments the pups were back bouncing and playing.  It was a great opportunity to talk about how puppies do not hold grudges!  What a great way to live.  The puppies had such a great time. I’d like to say it wore them out – it did not!

The pups are primarily inside now.  Too much snow and another blizzard on it’s way – sigh.  But, no doubt the pups will enjoy digging when the snow disappears and dirt is obtainable, they will enjoy barking and maybe even baying when they are older and they will be lots of fun for an active family!
The pups share a foster home with Martah and Martin.
