spectWhen I am an old Dog, I shall wish for a home to call my own
with a comfy couch and people who are good and kind
By Shiva

At seven years of age, I am now an old dog.  I landed in an animal shelter, not much fun when you are older.  The blankets don’t provide a lot of cushion and warmth from the cold cement, and my ears are good enough that the bedlam of noise was frightening.  I may be older but I’m not dead and the surroundings were terrifying to a small mite like myself.  And while my owners didn’t care anymore, the shelter employees sure did.  They took it upon themselves to find a rescue of kind hearted, maybe foolish, people to take me in.shiva_oct_27_2010sm

So, now I do have a comfy couch and the people are so kind.  The food is tasty, the environment safe and sweet and I do love it so.

But …. I need a home to call me own.  My very own home where people will love me and care for me and I can cuddle in their laps and run in the back yard too!  I love to go visiting and let people know this is a great place to be and life is good!  I can bring cheer to those who have none – if someone shiva5_oct_27_2010would just give me a chance.  I could do it.

The vet cleaned up my teeth: I had to be put out for the procedure so there was nothing to it for me!  So, I’m all set in that department.  Here is a photo of me right after my foster mom picked me up from the vet when I had my teeth cleaned.  See the purple bandage on my shinva_oct_25_2010leg?  The vet put that on my leg.

I can fit easily in a cat bed, when the cats are not looking.  I do not take up a lot of room at all.  I do enjoy being brushed and like my food dish to be filled once, maybe twice a day.

Not many people are looking for older dogs, and I understand, I really do.  But if you adopt me, I promise the next few years will be the vet best for both of us!spect
