Opie is one large overgrown awesome puppy!
Personality plus, Opie may have the looks of a dog to be wary of, but his tail starts wiggling, his butt starts wagging and he is full of kisses for those he meets. Opie is bigger than he looks in the photos. He currently weighs close to 90 pounds and is expected to get even bigger yet. He is great with other dogs and loves people. He is much too big to go in a home with small children.
His foster dad says that Opie loves to play with his food dishes. Opie will toss the dish up in to the air, will scoot it all over his kennel and is simply fascinated with these dishes. He has gone through four dishes! They buy him other toys but he just loves playing with his food dish. What a silly boy.
Opie is one of those lucky dogs. Why? Because in Opie’s case there was no hope for him at the shelter due to a skin infection. Because the employees at the shelter fell in love with him and his big ole’ goofy self, because they went above and beyond to get Opie into a shelter, and this was not easy as Opie came to us with a skin condition.
And Opie is lucky because he has foster parents that have went above and beyond to treat him to cure the skin condition. Because Opie had to be kept totally separate and it’s been a lot of work! His foster parents would dearly love to adopt him but, they are fostering him and will be just, ok, maybe almost, just as happy when this boy finds his forever home.
So, as you can imagine, we are looking for the very best home for this big goofy boy!
Medical: He is neutered, micro chipped, wormed, and up to date on shots.
Microchip: Included in the adoption is the registration of the AVID micro chip in the new owner’s name.
Adoption fee: $300
Leash and Collar or Harness: a Lupine brand harness or collar and leash are provided for each
canine. Lupine has a life time guarantee; if chewed, the company will replace it free of charge (thank goodness!).
PetsConnect! is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization moving into out Tenth Year!
All the animals are in foster homes and well cared for, we pay our bills, make our thank yous and our volunteers work very hard to run PetsConnect! as a professional, caring, friendly business!
The animals in our program come from local animal shelters and to the employees and volunteers of our local animal shelters we are most grateful and thankful for the hard, emotionally taxing work they engage in daily.
