A long haired doxie, Peabody comes to us painfully thin and will need to put on some weight before we can have him neutered. We expect him to be ready for adoption mid-September. So, for now, enjoy some photos!
Peabody is a liver and white long coat and he is adorable. He is fine with dogs and cats and at this point is pretty low key, however, once he is up to snuff health wise we would expect him to behave more energetic like any good doxie.
Peabody landed in the shelter as a stray, was never claimed, went into adoption, got himself on the wrong side of his kennel mates and we were asked to take him. He does like to hump other dogs – which is what got him a ‘bad name” with his fellow doggy kennel mates. Despite what the other dogs whispered into the ears of the shelter employees, well, the humans just loved this little guy. So, we now have him.
In his foster home he is learning humping is not desired behavior and his fellow foster dogs have taken a shine to this little guy. He is really well behaved and like most dogs, just does better in a home.
Peabody loves to be held, petted, carried and such.
He has not been a barker but we would expect him, again, like any doxie worth it’s weight, to bark.
Peabody tested negative for heartworm, has his rabies shot, has been wormed and is on Frontline plus and Interceptor.
His adoption fee will be $250.00.

All the animals are in foster homes and well cared for, we pay our bills, make our thank yous and our volunteers work very hard to run PetsConnect! as a professional, caring, friendly business!
The animals in our program come from local animal shelters and to the employees and volunteers of our local animal shelters we are most grateful and thankful for the hard, emotionally taxing work they engage in daily.
