Sebastian here.  I’m a good looking guy if I say so myself .. and everyone tells me that too.  Well, after five years of living a good life and being well cared for my family up and left me at an animal shelter.  I know, go figure.  Then when they took me to the shelter one of them had to go off and say something to the shelter employees about me being a good stud dog!  Well, that didn’t go over and I can see why … the shelter was full of fellow dogs: big ones, little ones, lots of purebreds and lots of cool looking mixes.  Like me they all just wheaton_june_10_2010wanted to go home – any home.

This is what I looked like when I was dropped off at the shelter.  Lots and lots of hair!  The shelter staff decided, rightly so, that I was a bit much to take care of and that they had lots of things to do rather than deal with brushing me everyday … and, secretly, I think they wanted to be sure I was neutered.  So I went off to a rescue.
Back to that neutering thing: what is with these people and their total absorption into making sure we are all spayed or neutered?  Gees, after I was groomed my foster mom took one look at my precious sebastian2_june_15_2010equipment back there and says: “Sweetheart, those got to go!”  She  didn’t even get a good look till after I was groomed .. but wow, was I proud after I was groomed!
The groomer did a great job but she complained about me not having a ‘skirt” – like do I look like a girl? – and then no fall.  My foster mom had to ask what a fall was!  The groomer said it is this hair that falls down my nose .. and she started me up one!  The groomer actually loved me:  she said I was excellently behaved and that I’m a great looking Soft Coated Wheaton – duh!

sebastian8_june_15_2010 My new owners have to be prepared for lots of grooming for me:   the groomer says brushing daily and a trip to a groomer every 4-6 weeks!  She says that if someone took care of me and that if a groomer knew what they were doing, I could look like the best Soft Coated Wheaton in the Midwest!  Ok, maybe not that exactly but something like that.

wheatona_june_10_2010My foster mom says there are things you will want to know about me:  I’m great with other dogs and with cats.  I am low key and for a Wheaton that is unusual.  I have terrific house manners, I go potty only outside, I sleep on the floor in my mom and dad’s bedroom.  Let’s see …. well, hey, I’m a great looking guy!

Mom says anyone wanting to adopt me should have some Soft Coated Wheaton knowledge for sure and be very aware of my grooming needs.  She says I should not look like this ever again.
