Bert Blues

Meet Bert Blues!

He is almost three months in this photo taken this past week,  February 15th, 2010.  He is on the couch looking up at me wondering why I got up and left him behind!
Bert is a handsome guy: black, sometimes a dark brown with white freckled chest.  He is sweet natured, and can be found in a lap if one is available.

He is learning to sit for a treat and learning to go outside to go potty too.bert_blues2_jan_8_2010

He is a photo of him when he is just about six weeks of age .. he is certainly getting cuter as he ages!

Bert  is one of five puppies: Juni, Donvan, Sam and Tinker.  I have fostered them since they were barely four weeks old.  You can read more about their beginnings with us here.  Since that post, we had to take mom away because she was so thin while at the same time the pups were sick with a nasty upper respiratory and coccidia and giardia .. good grief!  So many drugs.. so many puppies .. so little time!  Two of the smaller pups didn’t make it but five did.  After all of that we found out they had the ringworm fungus too.  If you look closely at the photos you can see a small spot of missing hair bert_bjuni_donavan_feb_9_2010here and there.
Well, the fungus is pretty much killed, the pups are thriving and growing bigger by the second and wow .. what great pups! ad are doing great now.

Here he is with Donavan and Tinker.

Making a Difference

PetsConnect! is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization moving into out Tenth Year!
All the animals are in foster homes and well cared for, we pay our bills, make our thank yous and our volunteers work very hard to run PetsConnect! as a professional, caring, friendly business!
The animals in our program come from local animal shelters and to the employees and volunteers of our local animal shelters we are most grateful and thankful for the hard, emotionally taxing work they engage in daily.
