Meet Dodger. This boy is a five year old male white poodle.
He is a bit long in the leg department but is poodle through and through.
This means he will require regular grooming, probably every 6 to 8 weeks so his new family will want to be prepared for that and make friends with a groomer!
Dodger’s story, or what we know: at some point he had been at a shelter since we have a record of shots from 2013. We don’t know if he had been adopted out by the shelter or had been picked up as a stray and given shots by the shelter while he was there. Speed ahead a few years and authorities went in and seized Dodger as he was not being properly care for, and by the looks of him it’s a good thing they did! When we pulled him from the shelter for our program he was a mess.
Deep matts that tugged at his skin. When we took him in to the groomer she said, This won’t be a groom but a shave down. I always feel bad about that because groomers don’t get excited about shaving down a dog. When I picked him up he must have lost three pounds of hair! The groomer said there was a flea caught in a matt. I said, oh, he has had flea killing meds. She said the flea was dying and not moving but it could not get out of the matt. That is some serious matting!
Dodger is going to need a dental cleaning. This is pretty typical for a small dog in his age range.
Right now we are working on a game plan to get that done.
Dodger is sweet, good with other animals, great in the house and walks well on a leash.
This is a really nice dog.
Dodger is available for adoption. If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment. Click here for adoption application
Adoption fee: $250
