Poppy: Border Terrier mix

poppy_july_2_2018 (6)psPoppy is loads of fun!
This is the dog for you if you enjoy training dogs.
This pup has focus, a willingness to please and some prey drive as well.
She is a smart little cookie.

Poppy has been great with other dogs, and would do well with most animals.  Being a terrier I would caution against birds, pocket pets and timid, shy cats.
Poppy has been enjoying pool time with her foster mom, maybe just as much to be with her foster mom as anything but still, she will jump into the pool and paddle to her foster mom and then climb up onto a raft and play with a ball.   Watch the video, this pup is hysterical.

Poppy does well in the house most of the time.  She will potty as soon as she hits the outdoors. And she is so funny because she will look at her foster mom as to say, See, I got this right!poppy_in_pool_july_3_2018 (3)

poppy_june_19_2018 (1)psPoppy is a terrier, saying that, no stuffed toy stays stuffed.
She seems to see it as her mission to rip out the stuffing, tear up the knotted toys and pull apart toys in general.
I would guess that she would have a hey day in a home with childrens toys.
She should grow out of this but it’s going to be awhile and maybe never.

Please note that adopters will be expected to participate in a dog obedience class.

There are many reasons why taking your new puppy to a dog class is a good thing:
encourage bonding, increase pups self-esteem, learn new things or new ways of teaching those old things, meet new people who love dogs too, have resources to help solve those doggy behaviors we don’t want, and maybe, just maybe, get involved in the world of doggy sports because today, there is a multitude of doggy sports for everyone!poppy_june_19_2018 (5)ps
Here are a few: Rally obedience, agility, musical freestyle, lure coursing, barn hunt, hose work, conformation, herding.  Your wallet may be lighter when you go out and compete but your life will be fuller!
