I am so glad you are reading about Cody.
Cody was a shelter request meaning they asked us to take him.
He had been picked up as a stray and no one claimed him, however, we feel there is more to this story and he was probably not picked up as a stray but more likely a breeder dump.
Why do we think this?
Well, first, that tan coloring on his rear end appears to be urine stain meaning that he was most likely in a dirty cage with no choice but to wallow in his own urine.
We have bathed him several times and it’s getting better but it may be something that will never go away or will go away as new hair grows in.
Second, he acts like he has never been in a home. We are working with him on manners and that entire marking behavior.
Third, but mostly, this boy attached like glue to his foster mom as if she was the first one to really handle him. Dogs from these situations seem to either shut down or go all out in the bonding department.
Give this boy some time, some training, some care and you will have a fantastic companion!
He stays with us when off leash – actually, he doesn’t want to leave our side. However, in time I don’t know if that would change and I don’t know if he would stay tight to our side if there were distractions. He has been really good with other animals as well.
Cody is available for adoption. If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment.
