Elsa is an active two year old female lab mix.  We think she is a lab and hound mix.elsa_sept_7_2017 (1)ps
She can be quite exuberant!  But she is also extremely affectionate, eager to please and everything one would want from a lab!

Elsa does well with other dogs and enjoys racing about the yard, playing running games or tug with another dog.
In her foster home, the dogs she plays with outside are closer to her size, like Reuben.
She and Reuben are hysterical as they will each be holding a toy – the same toy playing their own version of tug.

Elsa will need someone who is willing to work with her.  She needs exercise, she needs to move, she needs to experience new things!
elsa_sept_7_2017 (3)psShe also really needs some work on walking with a leash and basic obedience training.
However, good news ~ this dog works for treats!
More good news ~ this dog is eager to please!

Fence: I would advise a fenced in yard but a dedicated leash walker would also work.  If there are children, a fenced in yard is required.
Children: Because she is large and exuberant, I would recommend either sturdy adults, teens and older children.  She may accidentally hurt a young child or a person who is unsteady on their feet.tag for video two_two_elsa_sept_7_2017 (12)ps
Dogs: she has been great with dogs, so far those 35 pounds and up.  She is simply too big and too active for the smaller dogs.
Cats: the cats are not impressed with her.  I do not think she would hurt them.  I do think your cats would be as unhappy as mine are when she is around.
Obedience:  pretty much required – plan on having the resources to engage in a doggy obedience class in your area.  Many offer deals when you adopt a rescue.  Ask.
More on Obedience:  She has some recall but will need more work on this.  A long rope, calling her (reel in if needed) and offering a high end treat will do the trick.  She does know sit.  A no pull harness may be helpful to help with the pulling.

Although not a move in perfect sort of dog, Elsa is, nevertheless,  a super nice dog!
She has that great labby personality.
Plan on trips to bodies of water and lots of fun adventures!
