Male, Tri color
Border Collie
Date of Birth: July 8, 2011
Weight: 43.50#

Grady is an awesome dog!  He is a handsome, six year old male tri-color Border Collie.IMG_2758
He is good with other dogs but typical of his breed can be stand offish.  We have a five year old border collie and a two year old aussie and he has been good with those two, he and the five year old have started to play a bit, as in I herd you and then you herd me kind of play!    Here is a photo of him with my two dogs, Miss Lucy and CiCi.  The three of them look a lot alike, at least from the front.
Grady is the one in the middle,  he does have a nice tail with a large white flag.

grady_july_16_2017 (6)psWhile he is fine with dogs, he is aloof around the other dogs and not a good candidate if you are looking for a playmate for your dog.  He will co-live.  Kind of a Border Collie thing.

Grady is completely house trained and does very well in the home.  He is not crated.  At night he sleeps in the floor in our bedroom.  If we leave the house we just leave him loose and he has never created a mess… not as of yet anyway.
He will take food off the counter or table if you leave it there, I mean, from his point of view, you did leave it there for him, right?   And he has been fed from the table as he will beg but he is not bad.  We don’t feed dogs from the table so he is learning to just lie on the floor.

Grady does require regular grooming.  He came badly matted.  Our groomer did a great job with him!  Plan on taking him to a groomer a couple times a week.grady_july_16_2017 (11)ps

Grady is look with us outside and does not wander but stays right nearby.  He is good with children, chickens, cats, horses, the macaw, the cockatoo, and anything else he has met.  If you like Border Collies, this is a really nice dog.
On the other hand, he would also be just a great dog if you want company out doing the chores or to go on walks and adventures.  This lad has manners!

He is six, but he is active.  He loves to run and be playful and silly at times.  He seems to know all the basic commands and one might have fun participating in some competition with him – after some training, of course.

Grady is available for adoption.  If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment.
