Tegan rocking with a Dr Who theme!

And she is back!tegan_july_25_2017 (4)ps

Tegan was adopted out but returned as adding a dog to a family with a young toddler was more then the family anticipated.
She is still just as

sweet and fun as before she was adopted, but about 6 months older now.
She loves going on adventures: for long hikes, walks along the beach, along the East Race, strolling downtown and hanging out in the dog park.

She is a quiet dog who would do fine in a crate during the work day.tegan_july_25_2017 (7)ps
She would be a good only dog or with another dog.  She does really enjoy playing with other dogs and is good with all sizes.
Tegan does not take much sass from other dogs, especially Dex the chichi who can be a big of a brat and likes to start things.  But she will stop when told and has never hurt another dog.  She has never started anything but every once in awhile does not like her foster mom petting a new dog, the family dog is ok, but not strange dogs.  Just a tad of jealousy but again, she stops when given a mild correction.

Add some dog obedience and this could be your next best friend!
She is smart and eager to learn.

Tegan had a blast at the Martin’s Paw Mart Pet Fair.
She also completely enjoyed the Drool in the Pool event in South Bend.

Meet Tegan!
Her name sake would be a companion of the fourth Dr Who, Tom Baker.  This theme all started with me watching my husband take Tegan, before she was named and we called her yellow dog, on a walk.  He had on his long brown western trail riding rain coat and his equally long Dr Who scarf.  It was a picture.  So, I looked up the companions for this fourth, my favorite, Dr Who and there was Tegan.  I had forgotten about Tegan but it’s a great name for this ‘yellow dog.”  So, we named her Tegan and had some fun with a photo shoot!

Tegan is a sweet pup.  She is a young girl, just seven months old.  Best guess for her breed mix would be some lab, some shepherd and some of many other breeds but we are not sure.
tegan_jan_8_2016 (5)psAt seven months she already weighs 47 pounds so she will be a big girl.
Tegan is a gentle soul.  She is cautious, submits readily to the dominant dog and has a live and let live philosophy to life.  She will need some training to help improve her doggy social skills which means buffing up her self-confidence.  Surprise, dog training will do just this!
Tegan has some nice potential. She can be a family dog to doing some doggy sports.  She would be great for that teen-ager in the family who has been begging for a  pup of their own and wants to do some doggy training.
Tegan would do best with treat training, she will not respond well to negative training techniques or rough, loud voices.  Clicker training and platform training would be good to explore.
So much fun to have with a dog!
Agility would help Tegan greatly and I suspect she would enjoy rally obedience and nosework too.
But I get ahead of myself, first, of course, some basic dog obedience.
This is just a really nice dog.
