Sophie: fetcher supreme

sophie_april_8_2015 (1)psABSophie is a seven month old female Boxer mix puppy.
She is still very much a puppy which means she is bouncy, busy and full of energy.

At 7 months, Sophie is still cutting teeth which means she seeks relief by chewing hard items.
Thus far she has been great about sticking to rawhide’s, pressed bones and the nyla bones.

One of her favorite activities is playing fetch.
She is good about bring back the item but then wants to play a bit of tug.
We are working with her on a ‘give’ command.

Once she gives up the item she will wait, she will even sit on command and wait for you to throw it. Then she is off full speed to fetch the item. This is great for training!

Sophie is going to be one of those dogs that you can substitute a toy or tug in place of treats.

Training:sophie_april_8_2015 (7)psAB Sophie is great in her crate, is house trained, walks well on a leash and even know some basic commands such as sit and comes when we call her (though she is either in a fenced area or on a long lead).

Despite all of this, we fully expect her new owners to participate in dog obedience classes with Sophie.
Starting with basic obedience session which is about 6-8 classes that meet once a week.
And of course, every day you would work with her on new learned items. After basic, I would encourage agility classes.

This little girl has the potential to bring home those first place ribbons!
Once trained, she is also a great candidate for Pet Therapy.
She is so sweet with people.

Sophie has been great with dogs of all sizes and fine with the cats.
She may chase a cat if it runs.

Sophie has a good nature making her a great choice for most families.
She would be best in homes with older children. A fenced in yard would be ideal. sophie_april_20_2015 007psAB
