Little Lewis

lewis_sept 27 2014 (4)Little Lewis is just that, little.
He weighs in at a whopping 4 pounds and given that he is already 7 months old it is unlikely that he will grow much more.  He may put on some weight which would be good but he is not going to grow anymore.

Lewis is a sweet chocolate and tan Chihuahua.  He is what they call a Short Coat in the chichi world because his hair is short.  He is a good looking little pup.

Lewis is good with other dogs and ok with most cats, however, despite the fact that the cats are over twice his size he will sometimes bark at them.  It’s rather comical but he needs to learn not to do this lest a cat take a swat at him.lewis_sept 27 2014 (8)

Lewis would do best in a home with other smaller dogs as he can easily be hurt by larger dogs simply because of his small stature.  He would also do best in a home with no little children but should be fine with visiting children.

Lewis is crate trained but usually is loose.  He sleeps in bed with us at night and is a good little sleeper.

We are working hard on the house training thing and he is doing well but his new owners will need to continue to work with him.  Also, because of his small size, he may need to be trained to potty pads in the winter if it get’s really cold.  lewis_sept 27 2014 (5)The fact is that he does not have fat on his bones and may not be able to keep warm enough to make a bowel movement in the cold weather.  It just depends.

He is a good climber in that he can get up on our bed and furniture and has not fallen off anything as of yet.
He loves to go outside with us and run around a bit but mostly explore.

He is a nice little dog that will make someone really happy.
