Max is a young male Yorkshire Terrier mix, at least I assume he is a mix.
He weighs in at almost nine pounds and is on the tall side.
Max is just a year old.
Max enjoys playing with other dogs, is fine with cats and he is completely house trained.
Max needs a lengthily warm up time before he trusts you.
He bonded to me quickly but took almost two weeks before he stopped growling at my husband.
Now the two of them are best friends though my husband does not appreciate Max’s offerings of kisses!
Max loves to be on our bed, in our bed and cuddled up with us but during sleep time he stays in his crate.
Along with being house trained, Max is terrific in a crate. He does not bark and is extremely well behaved.
I guess this is to make up for the time it takes him to decide we are good people and really don’t need to be growled at!
Max is seriously cute as a button, enjoys rawhides and stuffed toys and he is hilarious to watch play.
He really does well with other dogs too, playing with them, sleeping with them or getting in trouble with them.
He can bossy around the dog food dish bowl but is actually getting better about that too.
This is a great dog for someone able to give him the time he needs to adjust.
Also the more he has adjusted to our home, the easier it seems to be for him to accept guests.
But he may be one of those dogs that, except for your friends and family who stop by, just put him in your bedroom.
I have no idea how he is with children.
Max is available for adoption. If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment. Click here for adoption application
