Pebbles is a most interesting looking Chihuahua. She is a, I think, double blue Merle.
And her eyes, they too are fascinating for they are blue with brown.
She can see and she can hear just fine.
She weighs in at 10 pounds and is just two years old.
We suspect she was a breeder dog. Why? Well, she has a tattoo similar to what those breeders who do mass quantities might put in a dog’s ear and she is not a warm up to you and give you kisses kind of dog. Actually, she is not feral but close.
So, let’s call Pebbles a project.
Pebbles is spayed, up to date on her shots and on heart worm medications.
She is great with dogs and cats.
Where are we at right now with Pebbles?
She will not come and actually will run away but at least now, when she comes to a wall she stops and waits for us to pick her up.
When petted she sort of cringes, pulls back as if she is extremely uncomfortable.
She has never attempted to bite, snapped at us or even growled or snarled.
She has made progress, small steps. She knows when we say ‘stop’ that means stop and wait for us which she does most of the time.
She will need someone willing to put in time, work with her but also give Pebbles needed space as needed.
I do believe Pebbles will come around and be a nice pet but it will take a special person with patience.
A fenced in yard might be best, or a really small fenced in area so it’s easier to catch her.
She is not going to go for walks for quite awhile but working with her with a leash in the house would be really good.
Pebbles is available for adoption. If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment. Click here for adoption application
