Rusty

Rusty is a Jack Russell Terrier and he exhibits the qualities of his breed: character, athleticism and versatility. Qualities that make Jack Russell Terrier’s great companion dogs. They are working dogs. They are loyal, alert, affectionate, and intensely loyal. They are smart and want to share life with you helping you at every step.

They are full fledged working dogs.

If you are looking for a dog that will await your arrival home to spend an evening on the couch, this is not for you.

If you are looking for a dog to train, to be active with, to participate in life with, to compete with and have a blast with, then this is the dog for you.

Jack’s are agile and hard working. They hunt and can find the mice and other varmints in the garage, barn, etc.
Rusty loves to ‘hunt’ in our garage. And he does tend to ‘worry’ the cat. Our cat is OK with him because she is dog savvy to a fault but most cats will not enjoy Rusty’s attentions.

september_16_2013 003Rusty is young, just a year old. He certainly needs training and work on his recall. He is a sweet dog desiring a bond with a human as well as direction from his human as to what he should do. If he does not get this direction he will create his own to-do list which is not always good.

Rusty does great with other dogs. He enjoys toys too.
Rusty is crate trained and appears to be house trained. He has a high bird drive and I have parakeets so he spends a lot of time out in the back yard or hunting in the garage. I currently have no mice!
