The Second Time Around–Luna’s Story

IMG_0390

Luna came to Pets Connect the first time in the summer of 2011. A call from a local shelter pleading for a chance for a small, female Chihuahua who was a little scared. So off went one of our volunteers who had an open space for another foster dog. It just so happened that they had already brought Luna's son home from the same shelter. Luna was scared at first but seemed to be very excited when she was picked up. Settling in at her new foster home took some times as she wasn't accustomed to big dogs but before long she was making herself at home.

She got to sleep cuddled up at night with her foster family and would spend nice afternoons outside relaxing or playing with the other dogs. After Luna was spayed and all up to date on her shots, rabies and micro chipped she was officially ready for adoption.

Luna was adopted in October to a wonderful home. She was the only dog so she got quite spoiled but hey she deserved it.

In July of this year Luna’s adoptive family had an issue and found they were unable to keep her. A call to PetsConnect was made and luckily Luna’s former foster family had an opening. She has been returned to PetsConnect and is settling in well again. She seemed to remember her former foster family and they think she even remembered where they used to keep the treat jar!

She will be soon available for adoption and will make a wonderful dog for someone. She is housetrained, crate trained, loves people, not sure about big dogs but great with other small dogs after the initial sniffing is all sorted out. She loves to cuddle on your lap and is great in the car. She would do well in a home with older children only and another small dog . She can go outside off-leash and happily comes when called.

Lets make Luna’s second time with PetsConnect her chance to find her forever home.
