Blue is a very loving boy who will gladly accompany anyone on any adventure.
He’s quick to hop in the car, always eager to go to the store, and enjoys meeting and greeting new people.
Of course, he also enjoys long walks along the river watching the ducks and geese fly around as well as people watching.
He has been working very hard on his leash manners and is getting much better.
Blue was in the shelter for many months so he came out quite excited to be in a home! He jumped for joy every chance he got. He was quite rambunctious at first, but who wouldn’t be? He is doing very well with not jumping on his human friends now – he still needs corrected every now and again so little kids wouldn’t be good as he may accidently knock them down in pursuit of delivery his many kisses.
His abundance of joy for life means that he needs someone who will provide him with activities to keep him busy.
He loves to play with other dogs – he can wrestle and play chase with the best of them.
He walks 3 miles with no problem so a home with someone who needs a walking buddy would be most ideal for Mister Blue.
He is working very hard on housetraining and is crate trained. He knows how to sit, go outside, go to his crate, lie down.
Not only does he have the looks, he is the whole package with a personality to match!
He is sweet as can be, gets along great with other dogs, quick to learn, and eager to please.
Mister Blue already knows basic commands, is crate trained and is working on leash training.
He has great eye contact and desperately wants a human to call his own.
He loves everyone he meets.
Blue is part pit bull and we don’t know what else. He is tall and has very unique markings.
Since he is part pit, is important for potential adopters to do their research about the pit bull breeds – both the good and the bad. They have been used for nefarious reasons and because of that there are often city ordinances, home insurance exceptions, etc. that need to be researched and considered before adoption.
Pit bulls make excellent family dogs and are very loving when raised properly. Part of that proper raising is keeping them socialized. You want to make sure you have time to spend letting your pitty meet new people and animals throughout his life.
It is also very important that you have the time to teach your pit obedience commands; beyond the simple sit and shake. Pit bulls need to know that their owner is in charge and that he needs to listen when given a command.
A badly behaved pit bull is an easy target for those who are ignorant of the breed – don’t let your new baby become a target. You should want to be a part of changing society’s negative view of them, not part of the problem.
That said, they are very loyal, loving dogs and make great companions.
Mister Blue is available for adoption. If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment.

Are you one of those who love pit bulls? Why not give us a financial boost?
Pit Bulls are in our system longer because of the care we take in placing them.
We want to be as sure as we can that they are placed in areas that are Pit Bull friendly and in homes with owners who are Pit Bull savvy. This means we put more money into the Pit Bulls in our program.
Any donation would be really helpful!
