Bella Anna, or Bell for short is a black-cinnmon Cocker Spaniel and poodle mix. She weighs 20 pounds and is full grown. Bell requires regular grooming as she does not shed. Bell has great house manners and is housetrained. She is great with dogs and cats and we are told with children too. Bell has been bounced about a bit. We are not sure how she landed in the local animal shelter initially but they adopted her out and she was returned supposedly for skin issues. Interetinly the only skin issue appear to be where a top knot had been rubber banded on top of her head! And she had a bad skin infection where the top knot had pulled out the hair. Big ouchy in my book. That has all healed now and she looks great. We have had no issues with her skin or hair since she came into our program the first of November. Bell loves to play with other dogs her size but is not so keen on the bigger dogs. She is so so with them but would rather hang with dogs in her size range.
Bell is housetrained but needs to be watched initally so she gets the hang out of where to go and how to tell you. She knows Sit, loves car rides and going for walks She is really good about going potty when leash walked and would do really well with an owner who loves to leash walk a dog.
According to her previous owner she knows the following: “I gotta go”: she will head straight to her kennel; “Time for bed”: she will go right to the bedroom and jump on the bed and snuggle in; “Go wake up the kids”: she jumps in their bed but just proceeds to snuggle with them and not wake them up; “Go Potty”: and “Whose’s here?”: she runs to the door.
At my house she has been really easy to care for. She enjoys laying by my computer but I have to remember to take her out for a potty break rather than being so engrossed I forget about her.
