A handsome boy, Nikki looks like a long haired German Shepherd. A pretty boy, he has long reddish brown hair with a black muzzle, black tail and erect ears. He is getting more black as he grows. He came to us with an infection on the side of his mouth that looked like a lump. This cleared up rather quickly with anti biotics! He has been neutered and has had his shots and now he is growing! He may be large when full grown. He is also developing a very deep bark as well as characteristics that are common in the shepherd breed.
Whoever had Nikki before he aquired him did not treat him well. Nikki is uncomfortable with his neck being ‘grabbed’ at and he needs to know it’s ok to come when called. He does well on a leash. A fenced in yard is required.
Nikki does well with our cat and other dogs. He is starting to show some tendency to be more dominant and likes to show this off to the new fur kids but with a firm no he is fine. Nikki has the potential to be a great pet, he is smart and eager to please. He will need to particiapte in dog obedience classes, expereince lots of more socialization and have an owner who enjoys training dogs. He would best in a home with teen-agers or older, though, he seems fine with children I’m not sure about the 24/7 being with little ones.
Nikki is available for adoption. If you are interested, please fill out an application and email it to us as an attachment. Click here for adoption application.
