Katie Lynn
Meet Katie Lynn
She is a large German Shepherd mix with one ear sort of half way up and one ear down which gives her an endearing look.
Katie is tall and weighs 71 pounds. She is about two years old, housetrained and has been fairly good with the other animals. She can be testy around her food and with her bones at times.
Katie does enjoy a good counter surf and will check out any items in the trash that you have foolishly thrown away.
She is amazed at what people throw away without first offering to her.
Katie will make a great companion. She walks fairly well on a leash but once her nose is on the ground — well, her nose is on the ground and it’s hard to sway her from a scent. Maybe she is part bloodhound?![]()
Here is Katie going for a walk in woods. The woods are so pretty, but the dogs don’t always photo well because of the lighting. What you can’t see is the marsh .. but she sees it and she wanted to go check it out! The marsh is a pond for the season due to all the water. Amazing amount of water.
Katie loves going for walks in the woods – too many smells too few walks.

I brought Monty home from the shelter .. he is actually as tall as Katie and twice as wide!
You can see Katie in this photo .. she could not understand why Monty was so willing to stick his nose in the water to fetch the red ball! it was pretty comical.
Don’t you know, Katie took an immediate liking to him!
She enjoys running the dog yard with him, romping and playing like a puppy!
And she likes Jake too … actually, Katie is doing much better with all the dogs. Her ears healing up have probably been the reason. Her ears were so terribly tender when she came to us, that I imagine every time a dog bumped them it caused her tremendous pain. When she first came home her ears just bled. Whoever adopts her will need to keep an eye on her ears and keep up with them if they get infected again, and they probably will. She has those big old hound ears that are prone to infections.
We have had Katie for awhile now – she can really use a home to call her own! Click here for recent photos of her playing in the snow!
She is spayed, is up to date on all of her shots and micro chipped. She is on Heartworm prevention, and Frontline plus.
Katie is special needs because of her ears which need to be cleaned out weekly and watched closely for infections. She also has a few quirky behaviors such as counter surfing, insisting that every stuffed toy be emptied of it’s contents and ’screaming’ at the cats when they take her toys. However, the cats still insist on sleeping with her and annoying her so her ’screaming’ is terribly ineffective. The adoption fee is $150.
The adoption fee includes: registration of the AVID micro chip in the new owners and a Lupine Brand collar and leash. Lupine has a life time guarantee, if chewed the company will replace it free of charge.

[...] is Sam – and he is certainly mis-behaving! He has gone up the stairs and climbed on top of Katie’s crate (which, by the way, she hates for him to do) and on top of that he is on the cat scratcher [...]
