Lady Bug

June 2011

Lady Bug is a pretty Bloodhound.  A young female, she came to us from a very small animal shelter in central southern Indiana.  Lady Bug came to us serously underweight with skin issues as well as ill.  She had to be on an antibiotic for a month!  And just when she was well enough, she had to go back to our vet so she could be treated for the heartworms clogging her heart.  Poor thing.
Now that she has been treated for those nasty heartworms she will become more and more healthy by the day and feel like a million bucks!
Heartworm – did you know it’s totally preventable?
A pill a day will keep those nasty heartworms away.    We encourage you to talk to your vet to be sure your dogs are on a good heartworm preventative because we can tell you from expereince that heartworm is on certainly on the rise!  Preventative is a whole lot cheaper than treatment and you don’t want to see your pet suffer.

Ok. back to Lady Bug.  She is a sweet heart, enjoys the company of the other bloodhound in her home, is housetrained, great with kids and she has stolen the heart of her foster mom — shoot just her photo on petfinders while she was still at the shelter won her foster mom over!
Lady Bug was a model in our recent Second Chance Fashion Show.  Check out there cool photos – this girl is ready to party!
